I always look out for these special dates. Almost always something memorable happens to me. But  11.11.11 is something else to talk about. In fact, I have not been happy the whole day for no reason. So just as I was trying to do some work in the office, I remembered today is Rev. Tei-Mati's birthday. Actually, I thought it was the wife's birthday but latter learnt it was his. He is a good father, I tell you. Those days Asiwome and I used to give him lots of headaches. One particular one I'll never forget is the famous Danquah circle accident. Anyway... I was so sad and missing home at a point I left the office. I prepared something ate and decided to take a little nap. Around 3:45pm, I went back to the office, then the first news I saw on the net was a bad one, my man Tiger Woods passed away. It was a difficult news to take and thank God it was a false news. He is very much alive. I never liked golf, but I used to watch this man play. Please don't ask any ques

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:     Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask  your forgiveness and to seek your direction and  guidance. WORKPLACE POLITICS, NO ONE WINS!

For the few years I worked, I had bitter experiences of politics at workplaces. On impulse I also developed the politics habit to safeguard my work or better still my career but one day a realization hits me hard, there is no winner after all. It is the organisation that suffers at the end. At one of the organisations I worked, well my opponents succeeded in making me leave the work but months later, the very person who masterminded my departure called me in need of my service. Well, I provided the needed service to them, but recently when they needed me most I got another job and left the country. So couldn't help them, sorry. Think about it who looses? Sad to say this, at one of the organisations am working with currently, one of the big men (bigot) play politics at the least chance even with his subordinates. ARE WE LIBERATED?

My friends know I like Tie and Dye Batik a lot, so I put on Whiteman’s shirt from Monday to Tuesday and the rest of the days in the week are for my Tie and Dye. Something happened one day when I was at Burro, Koforidua. The Americans I work with always fall in love with my Tie and Dye Batiks and that encouraged me to wear more of them. Then Burro got some interns from one of the Universities from U.S. Well they also seem to like my dresses but one day I put on Kasper long-sleeved shirt and one of the interns said,” Today you are dressed up ”.  I took it as an insult to me. But this is where it got interesting, when they were leaving back to the States, all of them including the lady who said that, bought not less than three separate pieces of that same Tie and Dye Batik away. So I asked one of them what he will use them for, he answered he will wear them. Since then I have being asking lots of questions myself and one obvious answer comes to mind. “GYE NYAME”

The builders’ efforts are futile, except the Lord builds. It is He who watches and the watchman (security man) can sleep and have sweet dreams yet the master is safe. In fact, my imagination tells me that Daniel in the Bible used one of the lions for pillow because in the night there was no bed and pillow to lay his head. He is a Consuming Fire, the Most Holiest, the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious and Incomparable God. He is deeper than anything, wider than anything and higher than anything you can think of. We call Him Father, Provider, King of Kings and a lot more names, but He calls Himself “I AM”. "I" is His first name and "AM" is His last name. I think this is the shortest but most powerful name ever. He has most names, titles and appellations. He says YES and that settles the case and says NO and nobody questions His

THE FIRST STEP

It is always difficult to take the first step. It takes courage and some inner strength to do that. But the first step is very important if not the most important in life's journey. Every long journey starts with just one step ( the first step). Never despise that step you have taken. Appreciate every small beginning. You may fail or fall in your business, career, relationship, marriage, spiritual life or whatever, you need to get up and take another first step. Get up and get backup. This is what a great boxer have to say, "The secret of winning is just to get up one time more than you get knocked down" Muhammad Ali. I want to take it higher, you get up and attempt one more time. Never get tired of taking another new step, because so long as you live you will never stop taking first steps. But your steps should not only stop at the first, take the second, the third and on, on you go. You must also know that, a start of a thing does not matter, it is the end

I AM SPECIAL

I was down one afternoon, after I performed miserably in one of the interviews during my job search era. Then a voice within me told me I am special. I pondered over the thought for some few minutes and I believed I am Unique. What…? I’ll tell you not all but some of the things that made my so. First my mom has seven children, three guys and four ladies. Then I know the number Seven represents Completeness or Perfection. We were all born on different days starting from Sunday to Saturday. The first born on Sunday, the first day of the week and the last born on Saturday, the last day of the week. Again the first born in January the first month in a year and the last born in December, the last month in a year. Then the sequence in which we came is also special. Our first born lady, Second guy, third lady, fourth guy, fifth lady, sixth guy and the last born lady. This is where it gets interesting. WHO IS ARROGANT?

In Ghana, most People mistaken confidence most of the time as arrogance. Our culture makes it in a way that, we are raised timid as children. Our parents never allowed us to be heard. You can’t talk and do gestures with your hands. It is a big NO; your hands have to be at your back or sides. But when I was taking lessons in facilitation skills, I got to know that using gestures is the best way to communicate. It facilitates your expression, lay emphasis and in a way catches people’s attention. We see people being shy, timid and naive as respectful. We never allowed people to be themselves. Why? Think of this; There are people who cannot tell you the truth or rebuke you when you go wrong. Then these groups of people who can look you straight in the face and tell you, my brother or sister you are wrong. Who is being respectful?
